Adidas does it again! Great and affordable golf shoes by Charlie
I shopped around for the lowest prices and found these at a local sporting goods store for much less than all of the Internet stores. The Beacons are very comfortable although they look very narrow. Looks can be deceiving, since I bought a pair of size 12 medium-width and they fit snugly on both feet. Generally speaking, I have to wear size 11 regular width oxfords, size 12 athletic sneakers, and size 11.5 regular width boots. Golf shoes are a very strange animal, since I spent well over 2 hours at the sporting goods store trying different sizes from different brands. Footjoy’s size 11 medium is like a size 12.5-13 Adidas, while Nike’s size 12’s feel like size 11 Adidas. I even tried Oakley’s Bow Tye Two in Size 12 medium and they felt like Size 13’s. Overall, you have to try golf shoes out at the store. I have yet to be let down by Adidas’ line of products. The only reason I throw out or change out my Adidas running sneakers is because the tread is worn out. That usually takes a few thousand miles!

The Beacons are sized just right, have a flexible upper, and a flexible/soft sole. The shoelaces are the same ones you would use for an athletic sneaker, so they won’t have a tendency to cut into your fingers trying to lace them tightly.

The sales rep at the sporting goods store recommended cheap $10-$30 golf shoes for the casual golfer. While this strategy might appeal to the frugal-minded golfers, my recommendation is to buy a top quality pair of golf shoes and ones that carry markings from your favorite brand. The reason for this is that golf shoes are rather important. You can switch clubs, balls, gloves, hats, shirts, and pants quite often but a good pair of golf shoes are the most visible and will affect your game. I found the cheap golf shoes to be poorly made, uncomfortable, improperly sized, or have low aesthetic appeal.

I walked a course with the Beacons and spent a few hours at the driving range. The plastic Adidas spikes do a decent job of giving you traction, but are comfortable enough to walk on pavement and for driving a golf cart.

Pros: Lightweight, stylish, good sizing (fit and width), and athletic-style shoe laces. Comfortable to use for standing, walking, and driving a golf cart.

Cons: Stock plastic spikes aren’t the best and it didn’t come with a spike wrench.

Overall: Superb golf shoes for the dollar, stylish Adidas tri-stripe design, and the white leather is remarkably easy to clean.
